Sarah McQueen, MSW (she/her) is the Chief Mission Officer at Healthy Futures of Texas. She supports the strategic alignment of health education, training and technical assistance, and community engagement initiatives to improve outcomes for young Texans through access to sexual health education, contraception, and resources. She received her Master of Social Work from Columbia University, focusing on child and family policy and managed the Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) program for San Diego County for over five years.
Before joining Healthy Futures of Texas, she served as a Program Director for Communities In Schools of Central Texas, an organization that provides holistic support systems for Texas’s most vulnerable students. In her role as Program Director with Cardea she supported the training and professional learning needs of the HIV workforce in Texas, in addition to other local and regional non-profit partners in Texas. Sarah has extensive experience in school-based prevention and intervention services, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, trauma-informed practices, positive youth development, and social-emotional learning. She is passionate about ensuring young people are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to make healthy decisions for their futures.
